In addition to ITW's industry leading research and development capabilities, ITW Shakeproof enhances our customers' competitive advantage by:</p> <ul> <li>Maintaining advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities in North America. </li><li>Exchanging product, process, and bench-marking information with associate units worldwide. </li><li>Continually improving processes, material, and designs to ensure every product exceeds customer specifications while providing unparalleled value. </li></ul> <p>ITW Shakeproof's Machesney Park facility is responsible for high volume automotive and industrial fasteners for the division's OEM and Tier/Distribution customers.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>The Maintenance Technician 1, 3rd Shift will support the Maintenance Department, under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to conduct preventative maintenance orders and test and repair malfunctioning equipment throughout the Plant.</p> <ul> <li>Test and repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notifies appropriate personnel. </li><li>Install equipment, machines, or programs to meet specifications. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine what maintenance is needed. </li><li>Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and precision instruments. </li><li>Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools. </li><li>Use welding skills/equipment (TIG, Stick, Torch) to fabricate and repair chutes, conveyors, hoppers, etc. </li><li>Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude and must possess the knowledge of timing of cams and gears, how to set backlash, replace bushings. </li><li>Understand hydraulic principles, pneumatic principles etc. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues. </li><li>Other duties may include janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, security, carpentry. </li><li>Additional responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree from a technical college preferred </li><li>3-5 years maintenance experience required; apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferred </li><li>Commitment to personal and organizational safety principles and practices. </li><li>Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations </li><li>Forklift truck experience required </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and safety documentations </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds </li><li>Ability to complete routine PM documents </li><li>Understanding of and compliance with safety rules and regulations </li><li>Ability to navigate CMMS software </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Strong time management and prioritization skills </li><li>Microsoft office competency a plus </li><li>Internal drive and interest in personal development </li></ul> <p>Compensation Information:</p> <p>24.00- 34.00 per hour</p> <p>ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
