<p>Job Description:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Program & Administrative Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Serve as an assigned designee (to assume program oversight) in the absence of the Program Director </li><li>In collaboration with leadership, develop, implement, monitor, and refine systems for effective paraeducator and other assigned staff (e.g., Associate Instructors) deployment/scheduling, mentorship, training, supervision, and evaluation </li><li>In collaboration with leadership, facilitates 30, 60, & 90 day reviews </li><li>In collaboration with leadership, participates in coaching sessions as well as disciplinary process related to tardiness and/or other paraeducator performance issues </li><li>Collaborate with instructional and clinical teams as well as educational consultants to actively support training of paraeducators and other staff to implement instructional strategies, behavior support plans, and other interventions </li><li>Participate in PPT meetings, treatment team meetings, and student case reviews, as assigned </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Career Growth</p> <ul> <li>In collaboration with leadership, identify, design and promote career pathways, including advancement into teaching, behavior analysis, or special education roles </li><li>Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with assigned paraeducators and other staff to facilitate understanding of staff needs, challenges, concerns, and professional goals </li><li>Assists leadership in ensuring that all paraeducators and other assigned staff comply with all CREC and RSS policies and procedures </li><li>Completes other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of special education law as well as best practices in instructional approaches and interventions for students with autism and related disabilities </li><li>Comprehensive and detailed understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CREC and Local 3194 of Council 4 American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO (i.e., Associate Instructor and paraeducator union) </li><li>Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and its application in school settings </li><li>Excellent leadership, interpersonal, supervisory, and communication skills </li><li>Ability to pass Safety Care training program without restrictions </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility:</p> <p>This position manages, and is responsible for, the performance management of the employees of the department and assists with hiring as needed.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Five or more years of related experience as a teacher, paraeducator, ABAI, clinician (BCBA, etc), or other direct service provider working within a school or related setting </li><li>Minimum of 5 years working with students with ASD or other disabilities </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of working within a training and/or supervisory position strongly preferred </li><li>Certification as a BCBA or BCaBA strongly preferred </li><li>Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices </li><li>Ability to pass a two-day Safety Care training program without restrictions </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p> <ul> <li>Standing (frequently 1/3 - 2/3) </li><li>Walking (frequently, 1/3 - 2/3) </li><li>Sitting (frequently, 1/3 -2/3) </li><li>Reach with hands and arms (frequently, 1/3 - 2/3) </li><li>Ability to work outdoors (occasionally, less than 1/3) </li><li>Carrying up to 25 lbs.
