You will provide technical leadership and mentorship, set engineering best practices, and partner with architects to evaluate trade-offs and shape scalable solutions. In this role, you will influence both technology and team development, balancing innovation with delivery to create lasting value for our users.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain backend services primarily in Java and Go </li><li>Support and modernize applications within Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform environments </li><li>Collaborate with architects to assess feasibility, trade-offs, and scalability of proposed solutions </li><li>Establish and advocate for software engineering best practices (code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability) </li><li>Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members </li><li>Contribute to and maintain clear technical documentation </li><li>Partner with product and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production and development environments </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience in backend software development (Java, Go preferred) </li><li>Proven experience with cloud-native architecture and infrastructure-as-code </li><li>Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) </li><li>Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, etc.) </li><li>Familiarity with Terraform or similar IaC tools </li><li>Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership </li><li>Track record of delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong coding and debugging skills in Java and Go </li><li>Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems </li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks </li><li>Knowledge of system design, scalability, and performance optimization </li><li>Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration </li><li>Ability to balance trade-offs between speed, quality, and maintainability </li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset </li></ul> <p>https://www.biworldwide.com/careers/benefits-page/</p>
