<p>Description</p> <p>The Dental Hygienist plays a key role in delivering high-quality oral health care. This position is responsible for providing preventative dental services, promoting oral health education, and supporting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care.</p> <p>Role and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform dental cleanings, periodontal scaling, and root planning </li><li>Conduct oral health assessments and screenings </li><li>Take, process, and interpret dental X-rays </li><li>Adhere to infection control standards and OSHA regulations </li><li>Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, and tobacco cessation </li><li>Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) </li><li>Collaborate with dentists and medical providers to support integrated care </li></ul> <p>Other Duties as Assigned</p> <ul> <li>Provide outreach and oral health education to schools and community groups as needed </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited Dental Hygiene program </li><li>Licensed Dental Hygienist in good standing with the state of Utah </li><li>Valid CPR/BLS certification </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental hygiene, preferred </li><li>Experience working with underserved or diverse populations preferred </li></ul> <p>Skill & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based care setting </li><li>Strong communication and patient engagement skills </li><li>Experience working with underserved or diverse populations preferred </li></ul>
