<p>Position Overview</p> <p>St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Wrestling Coach to support the development of our boys wrestling program. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, strong communicator, and committed to teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship, and the values of the Baron community.</p> <p>This position reports directly to the Head Wrestling Coach and Athletic Director.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist with planning, organizing, and running daily practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the instruction of wrestling techniques, strength training, and conditioning.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote a safe, competitive, and positive training environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend all practices, matches, and team events throughout the season.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide mentorship, encouragement, and accountability for student-athletes.</p> </li><li> <p>Help evaluate athlete progress and development.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain equipment and practice spaces in a clean and organized manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, Athletic Director, athletes, and parents.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with travel logistics, weigh-ins, scheduling, and meet-day operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold school values, athletic department policies, and FHSAA rules.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prior wrestling experience as an athlete or coach.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to academic success, character development, and sportsmanship.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to pass required background checks and complete Safe Environment Training (Diocese of St. Petersburg).</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous coaching experience at the high school or club level.</p> </li><li> <p>CPR/First Aid certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with FHSAA regulations and best practices in wrestling training.</p> </li></ul>
