All City hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under direct supervision of the Director of Public Property or designee, performs various duties in the maintenance of City facilities, and related work as required.</p> <p>This position is from 7am - 3:30pm plus overtime as needed and mandatory snow operations.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs duties in the maintenance and repair of City facilities </li><li>including but not limited to power washing, pool resurfacing preparation, painting, minor fence repairs, minor rough carpentry, and cement work. </li><li>Orders necessary supplies and materials. </li><li>Supervises the care and maintenance of equipment </li><li>including but not limited to generators, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, weed whackers, and power blowers, and painting equipment. </li><li>Removes graffiti from City-wide buildings as directed. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent or a minimum of four (4) years experience in a specialty area and/or building maintenance. </li><li>Knowledge of the methods, supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and effective practices used in carrying out the duties of the assigned position. </li><li>Must demonstrate competency and proficiency in at least one of the building trades. </li><li>Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to make sound decisions and achieve task objectives while frequently working in an unsupervised environment. </li><li>Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. </li></ul> <p>Training Requirements</p> <p>Upon Appointment:</p> <ul> <li>OSHA 10 training and obtaining of completion card within six (6) months of appointment or as courses become available. </li><li>Lead paint removal certification within six (6) months of appointment or as course becomes available. </li><li>Hoisting and Lifting certification for forklift operation within twelve (12) months of appointment or as training becomes available. </li><li>Aerial platform operation training within twelve (12) months of appointment or as training becomes available. </li><li>Customer Service Training. </li><li>Sexual Harassment, Sensitivity, and Diversity Training </li></ul> <p>Sustainment:</p> <ul> <li>Periodic training in workplace safety and OSHA 10 </li><li>Periodic training as required to maintain licenses and certifications </li><li>Participation in customer service, ethics, diversity/sensitivity training and other professional development to ensure high performance and value-driven operations. </li></ul> <p>EXTERNAL CANDIDATES - APPLY HERE</p> <p>CURRENT EMPLOYEES (1033 ONLY) - APPLY HERE</p>
