This role is responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems </li><li>Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others </li><li>Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors </li><li>Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes </li><li>Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems </li><li>Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus </li><li>Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle </li><li>Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 7+ years of applied experience </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in core mainframe programming language and tools such as COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2 and IMS. </li><li>Experience with CICS for online transaction processing </li><li>Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability </li><li>Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle </li><li>Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in financial services industry is </li><li>Familiarity with MQ, DB2 Stored Procedures, Java, AWS, Kafka </li><li>Exposure to cloud technologies </li></ul>
