At the Ideal Tridon Group, connections aren't just what we make-they're the heart of everything we do.</p> <p>We are seeking a Maintenance/Facilities Technician for Wesanco at our Garden Grove plant!</p> <p>Schedule: Monday-Friday <em>possible OT on Saturdays</em></p> <p>1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>This position is responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; locating the source of problems and observing mechanical devices; removing defective parts and dismantling equipment; determining changes in dimensional requirements; adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, performing routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance; fabricating repair parts; maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventory; and providing mechanical maintenance information and reports. This position will report to the shift supervisor.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Completes preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. </li><li>Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. </li><li>Troubleshoots malfunctions and listening for problems. </li><li>Uses precision measuring and testing instruments. </li><li>Uses hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. </li><li>Use of rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. </li><li>Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges </li><li>Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance. </li><li>Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. </li><li>Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventory. </li><li>Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. </li><li>Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. </li><li>Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. </li><li>Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. </li><li>Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations </li><li>Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. </li><li>Additional responsibilities include machine and auxiliary equipment preventative measures. </li><li>Performs assigned maintenance activities to ensure Garden Grove facilities are operating to meet quality requirements. </li><li>Completes Labor Tickets with the knowledge and understanding of materials contained in the Document Center. </li><li>Identifies and removes slip, trip, and fall hazards. </li><li>Responsible for plumbing, painting, and drywall installation and/or removal. </li><li>Set up cubicles and assist with equipment moves. </li><li>Responsible for minor dock door and leveler repairs. (Door adjustments, Cable replacement, Light electrical). </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery </li><li>Ability to follow instructions and learn the production process. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Excellent time management skills </li><li>Ability to perform repetitive tasks. </li><li>Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. </li><li>Not scared of heights such as working from a flat roof, ladders and mobile elevated working platforms. Must be able to pass a test to operate a forklift and boom lift. </li><li>Plumbing skills. Must be able to clear clogged drains, re-route water lines, make repairs to toilets, sinks and urinals </li><li>Basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Needs to be able to replace and repair light fixtures, replace switches, read a voltage meter and troubleshoot minor electrical issues. </li><li>Basic knowledge of fire suppression systems, compressed air, HVAC and exhaust fans in order to complete PM's assigned. </li><li>Ensures compliance with the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System. </li><li>Responsible for working with and maintaining relationships with outside contractors such as HVAC, Plumbers, Roofing, Dock service, and Lawn Care providers </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree or completion of qualified apprenticeship program </li><li>Minimum of 2 year of related work experience </li><li>Self-motivated. </li><li>Knowledge of inventory systems </li><li>Capable of utilizing basic math skills </li><li>Capable of using scan guns and ERP software </li><li>Detail-oriented </li><li>Hilo certified or able to become certified in operating lift equipment. </li><li>Must be able to clear drug screen and background check. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation. </li><li>Welding and/or Roll Mill operation experience is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of standing entire shift </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. </li><li>Must be able to bend and twist throughout entire shift. hearing and/or eye protection </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands of Work Environment:</p> <p>The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation as you will frequently walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect, position, grasp or squeeze, stoop, kneel, crunch or crow, climb, talk/hear to communicate, detect, converse with discern, convey, exchange information; see to detect, distinguish, identify, inspect, estimate. Must wear required</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>Be able to work in a loud, noisy, and congested environment.
