<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Coordinator of Athletic Compliance ensures adherence to NCAA,</p> <p>conference, and institutional rules and regulations, with a strong emphasis on eligibility and compliance</p> <p>operations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in NCAA compliance and eligibility processes</p> <p>and will serve as a resource for coaches, staff, and student-athletes. The Coordinator of Athletic Compliance also</p> <p>collaborates with student administrative offices and Admissions to help the University achieve its goals in the</p> <p>recruitment and retention of student athletes. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and</p> <p>travel as required.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and certify student-athlete eligibility for practice and competition in accordance with NCAA and </li></ul> <p>institutional standards.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the coordination of the precertification process to evaluate initial eligibility, amateurism, and </li></ul> <p>admission status for prospective student-athletes, to include the evaluation of international and domestic</p> <p>transfer scholar-athletes.</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and document the collection and reconciliation of playing & practice seasons, countable </li></ul> <p>athletically related activity (CARA), and time management plans, adhering to all NCAA and university</p> <p>policies & protocols.</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a liaison between Athletics and campus offices such as Admissions, Registrar, and Financial </li></ul> <p>Aid to ensure accurate and timely processing of eligibility and compliance documentation.</p> <ul> <li>Educate coaches, staff, and student-athletes on NCAA rules and regulations; provide interpretations and </li></ul> <p>guidance as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Support the administration of NCAA compliance software systems, including the NCAA Eligibility Center. </li><li>Assist with monitoring recruiting activities, financial aid allocations, and squad lists to ensure compliance </li></ul> <p>with NCAA legislation.</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and submit required NCAA and institutional reports, including eligibility waivers and rule </li></ul> <p>interpretations.</p> <ul> <li>Develop and distribute compliance education materials for internal and external constituents as needed. </li><li>Maintain accurate compliance records and assist the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) in </li></ul> <p>investigating and reporting potential violations.</p> <ul> <li>Represent the athletics department at conference meetings, NCAA regional rules seminars, and national </li></ul> <p>conventions as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Work with the University's Title IX officer to ensure compliance with Title IX guidelines. </li><li>Supervise grant-in-aid distribution for all sports, including the processes of initial and annual renewal/non-renewal of athletic grants-in-aid. </li><li>Coordinates activities/communication within the CIAA conference and NCAA as they relate to </li></ul> <p>Compliance matters.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with game-day operations, event management, and other departmental duties as assigned. </li><li>All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics. </li><li>Note: This job description is not intended to provide all duties that may be required of the position, as </li></ul> <p>other duties may be required of this position.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>Directly supervise student workers; carry out supervisory responsibilities by following the University's policies and</p> <p>applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training workers; planning, assigning, and directing</p> <p>work; evaluating performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> <p>Minimum Job Qualifications</p> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. </li><li>Two years of demonstrated experience in college athletics, higher education administration, or business </li></ul> <p>management.</p> <ul> <li>Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>High business and personal ethical standards. </li><li>Demonstrated calm; thoughtful under pressure. </li><li>Legally operate an automobile in the State of North Carolina. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience in NCAA compliance and eligibility processes at the campus or conference </li></ul> <p>level.</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation. </li><li>Experience with NCAA compliance software systems. </li></ul> <p>Certificates, Licenses or Registrations</p> <p>None</p> <p>Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior)</p> <p>Must have a philosophy that is consistent with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the organization. Ability to manage multiple projects</p> <p>simultaneously. Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, and carrying.</p> <p>The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.</p>
