<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is seeking a Full Time Electrical Engineering Intern (Substations) - Summer 2026 to work out of our Orlando, FL office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.</p> <p>WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience to enhance their education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections.</p> <p>This internship is anticipated to take place during the Summer 2026 semester.?The program is anticipated to take place from May 2026 through August 2026. The individual start date is flexible.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills. </li><li>Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering. </li><li>Work under guidance of experienced engineers on all aspects of substation design during internship </li><li>Participate in development of substation design components including: One-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications, physical layouts, sections/elevations, cable and conduit plans and details, ground grid, foundation, and structural plans, control enclosure, lightning protection, yard lighting plans, bills of materials </li><li>Learn and adhere to client standards and processes </li><li>Work independently or within a team to complete complex, challenging designs </li><li>Perform design calculations using industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc.) </li><li>Assist senior engineers with QA/QC design checks </li><li>Possible participation in site visits </li><li>Complete training on assigned tasks. </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. </li><li>Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later. </li><li>Must be 18 or older. </li><li>Demonstrated interest in consulting engineering, electric utility industry, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects. </li><li>Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. </li><li>Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects. </li><li>Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools. </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. </li><li>Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection </li><li>Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus. </li><li>Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position. </li><li>Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial. </li></ul> <p>#LI-GA1</p>
