<p>Human Resources Generalist (Revised)</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Job Status: Non-Classified</p> <p>Reports to: Vice President - Human Resources</p> <p>Salary: $45,314 (non-negotiable)</p> <p>Summary: The HR Generalist provides support and administration in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, leave management, recruitment, and employment law compliance. The HR Generalist will create innovative solutions and efficiencies in the HR office. Reports to the VP of Human Resources & Institutional Advancement.</p> <p>General Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Leads search process, including collecting, reviewing, and organizing job applications. Works with search committees throughout the process of making recommendations for the hiring of qualified individuals. </li><li>Administers all new hire paperwork, including I-9 and E-verify. </li><li>Researches, writes, edits, prepares and updates various informational materials for publication. </li><li>Facilitate position and classification reviews as directed by the Vice President. </li><li>Assists with strategic recruitment and public relations activities, to include attending job fairs and professional networking events. </li><li>Assists in the development and maintenance of the department's webpages and website. </li><li>Conducts employment background and reference checks. </li><li>Assists in the development and implementation of training programs for employees </li><li>Develops offer letters, PARs, beginning and end of employment information, appointment letters, and more. </li><li>Filing, scanning, and general office work is required. </li><li>Researches employment and wage information as needed. </li><li>Assist in grievance, personnel, lawsuit or other matters related to HR under the direction of the Vice President. </li><li>Serves as a liaison to various vendor agencies regarding employee questions/concerns. Assists employees with such contacts as needed. Provides benefit information to employees and facilitates enrollment in benefits. </li><li>Oversees management of the timekeeping system, including sick, catastrophic, and annual leave processes. </li><li>Explains policies and procedures regarding sick/vacation leave to faculty/staff and answers questions related to leave accrual balances and other leave related issues. </li><li>Provides employees, managers and supervisors with information on applicable federal and state employment laws. </li><li>Administers FMLA, PLA, and Workplace Accommodations programs. </li><li>Runs and creates reports as needed and as requested by the Vice President. </li><li>Professional Development, including oversight of training software. </li><li>Stays up to date on HR practices, rules, laws & procedures. </li><li>Travels off-site as needed for new hire paperwork or other HR related events. </li><li>Performs related duties as assigned or as directed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications: Requires an associate's degree in human resources administration, public administration, business or related field plus 1-2 years of experience working in a direct human resource related role. 1-2 years of direct experience in timekeeping, processing new hire paperwork, FMLA and leave administration is required, preferably in higher education. The ability to work independently is required. Must have an interest in learning federal and state laws, policies, and procedures. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required. Experience working with employment data for report creation and processing is preferred.</p> <p>Licensure/Certification Required: A valid/current driver's license.</p> <p>Physical/Work Demands: Work is typically performed in a normal office environment; some duties may require lifting and carrying boxes of materials/supplies, traveling to different locations/sites, climbing stairs and near-constant use of computer.
