If you are viewing this posting through any other website (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc.), please visit our website to submit your application.</p> <p>Public Transit Driver (Part-Time)</p> <p>Pay Range: $19.24 - $27.09</p> <p>NATURE OF WORK</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing safe and dependable operation of vehicles operated by the City's public transportation program.</p> <p>This includes the supervision and assistance of consumers, and use of established reporting procedures. Works under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>The following examples of work are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:</p> <ul> <li>Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. </li><li>Ensures confidentiality of all client information. </li><li>Ensure reliable and efficient operation of vehicles by operating in a safe, responsible manner. </li><li>Conduct vehicle visual checks, always maintain a clean vehicle. </li><li>Ensure the safe, comfortable, and timely transportation of consumers. </li><li>Adhere to route schedules in a timely and reliable fashion. </li><li>Assist customers on and off the vehicle properly and safely. </li><li>Accurately complete forms and reports, i.e. weather/road conditions, accident and delay reports, incidents report and all program reports. </li><li>Address questions and concerns from clients. </li><li>Communicate with the appropriate City of Fremont office concerning the daily pick up and drop off schedule. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to understand and comply with various laws, rules, regulations, policies and guidelines as they pertain to City of Fremont and the Department of Transportation. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing and be able to establish effective working relationships with many different people, ranging from transportation clients, community professionals and representatives, City of Fremont staff and the general public. </li><li>Be a strong team player with a positive attitude toward working with staff and with clients and their formal and informal support systems. </li><li>Must have good computer skills with general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and could learn other computer systems. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and conflict resolution skills. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks. </li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Ability to work in a quickly changing environment with numerous disruptions. </li><li>Ability to obtain and hold driving course state certifications. </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds. </li><li>Must have a high school diploma or GED. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license from the State of Nebraska and maintain licensure. </li><li>Must have and maintain a good driving record, with no major violations (including DUI or DWI). </li><li>Must not appear on the APS/CPS Registry for abuse/neglect or have been dismissed from prior employment due to suspected abuse/neglect. </li><li>Must have knowledge of streets and highways within Fremont City Limits. </li><li>Must be able to administer standard first aid (including CPR, if required) and use of basic materials (first aid kit or fire extinguisher) located in the vehicle. </li><li>An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the above knowledge, ability, and skills. </li></ul>
