<p>The Spanish department is seeking innovative and creative faculty who are committed to the spirit of active learning, natural approach to language instruction and inquiry methods of education. The department encourages collaboration with colleagues to promote student success.</p> <p> </p> <p>This position is an adjunct position beginning in September 2025 for Fall Quarter and potentially beyond.</p> <p>ABOUT THE COLLEGE:</p> <p>Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. We understand individual needs vary widely, and the effects of discrimination and historical oppression must be taken into account while aiming for equitable opportunities and outcomes for all.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities: </p> <p> </p> <p> Teaching first year Spanish courses.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: </p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Spanish. </li><li>One-year of college-level teaching experience in which the candidate was the primary instructor of record for at least one course per quarter or semester. </li><li>Demonstrated experience, expertise, cultural competencies, and commitment to equity in working with students, communities, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and identities. </li></ul> <p> </p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Additional teaching experience at the college freshman and sophomore level beyond the minimum qualifications. </li><li>Use and development of active-learning materials for instruction. </li><li>Understanding and implementation of outcomes assessment. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with and interact effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and administrators. </li><li>Demonstrated involvement in professional activities in promoting Spanish and the Hispanic culture on campus and in the community </li><li>Excellent writing and speaking skills. </li></ul> <p>At this time, Green River College is not sponsoring for H1-B Visas.</p> <p> </p> <p>All offers of employment are subject to background checks.
