<p>TITLE: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio certification/licensure </li><li>Master's degree in Educational Administration </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Designee/Principal</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To assist the principal in providing school wide leadership and to learn the role of the principal.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (As assigned by the principal)</p> <ol> <li> <p>Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as the principal in the absence of the principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises the preparation of student schedules if so delegated by the principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in working with department heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services as delegated by the principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases, as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves with parent, faculty, and students groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers the student insurance program as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs record-keeping functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance officer for investigative follow-up actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and evaluates teachers and departments as assigned by the principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may assign.</p> </li></ol> <p>ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. </li><li>Excellent observation and communication skills </li><li>May perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting, when working with students. </li><li>Assisting students with behavioral/management needs </li><li>Frequent evening and/or weekend work </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Salary and work year as established by the Board and terms of negotiated contract. </li></ul> <p>EVALUATION:</p> <ul> <li>Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. </li></ul>
