<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Description of Department: The mission of the Walker Health Center is to assist students in meeting their academic goals. Consultation with other members of the campus community is integral to this position.</p> <p>Job Description: The Dr. Mary Walker Health Center at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner (Family Health Practice). This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. This position reports to the Director of Student Health Services</p> <p>Posting Date: March 30, 2026</p> <p>Review Date: Applications will be reviewed immediately and will continue until the position is filled.</p> <p>Salary: In accordance with the PEF Contract Agreement. Please click here for more information on benefits for full-time PEF employees.</p> <p>Date of Appointment: TBD</p> <p>Description of Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Providing direct primary care to a diverse population of students using face-to-face visits and telemedicine.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating and consulting cooperatively with other health team members involved in the delivery of patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Following patient care protocols as determined by the Health Information and Therapeutics Committee.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting students to assume responsibilities for the prevention of illness and the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health through teaching/counseling during clinical interaction.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining and improving clinical skills and knowledge through continuing education (conferences, journals, videos, etc.) and developing/participating in professional growth opportunities for staff. Documentation of continuing education will be the NP's responsibility and will be kept in their credential folder.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishing and maintaining high standards of practice within Health Services, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Delivery of quality and comprehensive clinical services</p> </li><li> <p>Promoting team building and positive group process</p> </li><li> <p>Equitable sharing of workload</p> </li><li> <p>The provision of ongoing assistance with administrative responsibilities to meet or exceed standards of care</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with orientation as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining national certification credentials</p> </li><li> <p>Membership on one of the Health Services committees to help maintain and meet standards of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing care for Gender Affirming Care students.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting the Director and Assistant Director as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications: Open Competitive:</p> <ul> <li>Certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in a specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department. </li><li>Experience: Minimum of 3 years or 3600 hours of clinical work experience (no supervising physician required). Previous experience in College Health, Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine preferred </li><li>Education: Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program </li><li>Licensure: Current and unrestricted RN and NP license in NYS and board certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC). </li><li>Must maintain NYS RN & NP license and registration </li><li>Up-to-date CPR certification. </li></ul> <p>Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong clinical decision-making and excellent communication skills.
