We bring together people and resources to build the framework that powers our nation.</p> <p>Equipment/Fleet Manager</p> <p>Mears is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment and Fleet Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate would have a heavy equipment mechanic background and be familiar with DOT regulations. Our suite of benefits reflects our commitment to our employees.</p> <ul> <li>Salary: $120,000 - $160,000, per year, paid semi monthly. </li><li>Job type: full time </li><li>Paid on-the-job technical and professional growth opportunities </li><li>Established career path for future advancement </li><li>401k and Roth 401(k) retirement savings plans </li><li>Health, prescription, dental, vision plans </li><li>Life & Disability Insurance plans </li><li>Financial wellness program </li><li>Employee assistance program </li><li>Employee discount programs </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Oversight of fleet vehicles and equipment </li><li>Manage daily operations of heavy equipment and construction vehicle fleets </li><li>Ensure equipment and vehicles meet DOT and company safety requirements </li><li>Support project teams by deploying equipment and monitoring availability </li><li>Monitor fleet performance, usage, and costs to identify improvement opportunities </li><li>Work closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to support jobsite needs </li><li>Uphold strict safety protocols and model safe behavior for others. </li><li>Schedule and track preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs, both internally and with external vendors </li><li>Coordinate internal and external repair work to minimize downtime </li><li>Assist with equipment lifecycle decisions, including replacement and acquisition </li><li>Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, fleet inspections, and service history </li><li>Evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and oversee parts procurement </li><li>Analyze vendor quotes and estimates for services and parts </li><li>Other responsibilities as assigned </li></ul> <p>KEY QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>10 years' experience in Equipment maintenance, Heavy Equipment mechanic, Fleet Management or similar role </li><li>Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, and maintenance practices </li><li>Understanding of DOT regulations </li><li>Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills </li><li>Project Management Skills </li><li>Negotiation Skills </li><li>The physical activity required for this role includes: </li><li>Travel as needed for site visits </li><li>Walking on uneven and variable terrain </li><li>Sitting, standing, walking for extended periods in an office environment </li><li>Frequently standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, bending and reaching </li><li>Manual dexterity for computer use, files and office equipment </li><li>Occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds </li><li>Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check </li></ul> <p>This role is accepting applications until filled.</p> <p>This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.</p> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.</p>
