<p>Enhanced Corrosion Service Teams (ECSTs) provide organizational level Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPAC) services as defined by Marine Corps Technical Manual 4795-OR/1A. A valued member of the ECST, the ECST technician provides support to the ECST assistant team lead and team lead. The job description of a ECST technician involves the completion of surface preparation and touch up, the ability to work well on a team, and strong problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Position Description:</p> <p>An ECST technician inspects, assesses, categorizes, documents environmental conditions, performs surface preparation and touch-up painting, and conduct routine maintenance on application equipment. ECST technicians must have a working knowledge of all United States Marine Corps Corrosion Prevention and Control policies, procedures, responsibilities, and billets within the Corrosion Service Team and the Enhanced Corrosion Service Team.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a CPAC Service Technician:</p> <ul> <li>Follow applicable safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). </li><li>Operate application equipment, which includes generators, air dryer, Mini-Blast Recovery System (MBRS), air compressors, application guns, grinders, vacuums, etc. </li><li>Accurately identify Marine Corps Corrosion Category Codes 1-5, the 4 stages of corrosion, and the correlation between category codes and stages of corrosion. </li><li>Perform equipment corrosion assessments using a paper copy or electronic version of the Marine Corps CPAC Program Corrosion Assessment Checklist (CAC). </li><li>Perform surface preparation and touch-up procedures on military and support equipment. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance of ECST equipment. </li><li>Travel as required to perform the duties of the position. </li><li>When necessary, be able to conduct standardized/routine training with team members </li><li>Possess a valid state driver's license. </li><li>Hold or be capable of passing a background check to receive identification credentials through the Defense Biometric Identification System. </li><li>Possess knowledge of mechanical systems. </li><li>Ability to take directions and perform corrective action plans. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks. </li><li>Pay strict attention to detail. </li><li>Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. </li><li>Able to understand/follow instructions and communicate effectively. </li><li>Ability to work well on a team. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>During short-durations, ECST technicians are required to lift to 50 pounds safely. </li><li>During moderate-durations, ECST technicians are required to mount and dismount military and support equipment of varying heights safely. </li><li>During long-durations, ECST technicians are required to work in outdoor weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.). </li><li>During long-durations, ECST technicians are required to wear and use company provided personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes but is not limited to: safety goggles, hearing and hand protection, and respirator equipment, etc. </li></ul> <p>Note: On a routine basis, ECST technicians are required to wear either a dust mask or fitted respirator (depending upon the task performed) to conduct Surface Preparation and Touch-Up Paint. The employer will ensure service technicians undergo an annual OSHA 1910.134 App A Quantitative Respirator Fit Test.</p> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational degree is preferred. </li><li>At least two years of experience related to CPAC programs and have documented experience in corrosion service team operations. </li><li>Prior military experience is a preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>Before becoming an ECST Technician, candidates are required to successfully complete CPAC certification. ECST technicians are required to recertify annually.</p> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability available free of cost to the employee only; dependents can be added on and paid for by the employee.
