In addition, the high school teacher helps to develop students' academic, social, and/or motor skills.</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:</p> <ul> <li>Plans and implements an inquiry based technical and vocational program, highly focused on specific career path to develop students' skills and preparation for the work world. </li><li>Co-teaches math and entrepreneurship courses. </li><li>Creates engaging lessons that develop students' critical thinking and problem solving skills. </li><li>Continually assesses student progress toward mastery of standards. </li><li>Creates a flexible high school technical and vocational program and classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth for all students. </li><li>Establishes effective rapport with students to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation continued progress in accordance with each student's ability. </li><li>Demonstrates appropriate long and short-term preparation for classroom instruction. </li><li>Holds high expectations for all students and sees themselves as facilitators of student learning. </li><li>Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in-group settings. </li><li>Assess student progress, provides students and parents with specific feedback, and uses the results to adjust instruction as needed. </li><li>Provides opportunities for academic support and challenge. </li><li>Takes responsibility for teaching the district curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents. </li><li>Establishes clear objectives for all lessons units and projects and communicates these objectives to students. </li><li>Keeps abreast of current development in their fields and continues to deepen their understanding of their disciplines. </li><li>Establishes and maintains a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and builds a sense of community.. </li></ul> <p>For more details & to apply, please visit the Ritenour School District website.</p>
