<p>The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a skilled Electrician 2 to serve as part of a statewide roving maintenance team supporting Ohio's Developmental Centers. This role is ideal for an experienced electrician who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working across multiple facilities to ensure safe and reliable electrical systems that support 24/7 residential and clinical operations.</p> <p>As a roving team member, you will travel to Developmental Centers to perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities that directly impact the health, safety, and daily lives of individuals served.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems & equipment across multiple facilities </li><li>Support critical infrastructure including electrical distribution systems, generators, transfer switches, lighting, and controls </li><li>Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance with safety standards </li><li>Respond to urgent electrical issues and assist in restoring essential services </li><li>Maintain accurate records, diagrams, and maintenance documentation </li><li>Coordinate work with facility maintenance staff and contractors to minimize operational disruptions </li><li>Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>4-day work week (4 x 10-hour shifts) </li><li>Schedule may vary based on facility needs </li><li>Flexibility required for travel & operational demands </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>This is a statewide roving position supporting all 8 DODD Developmental Centers:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent statewide travel to assigned facilities is required </li><li>Exposure to energized electrical equipment </li><li>Indoor & outdoor work environments </li><li>Overtime, call-back, or emergency response may be required </li><li>Physical activity including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in confined or elevated spaces </li></ul> <p>18 months training or 18 months verifiable experience in electrical work under supervision of experienced electrician; formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & writing common English vocabulary.</p> <ul> <li>Or 6 months experience as Electrician 1, 52281. </li><li>Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. </li></ul> <p>Job Skills: Electrical Trade</p>
