This includes, but is not limited to coding inpatient and outpatient. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>Required Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology </li><li>2 years inpatient/outpatient coding experience </li><li>Windows applications </li><li>Cooperates well with others </li><li>Competent attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Proficient computer use and software applications </li><li>Ability to apply local, state, and federal guidelines with attention to detail </li></ul> <p>Preferred Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS Certification </li><li>Experience in inpatient/outpatient medical record coding </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to move about areas of the medical center throughout the shift </li><li>Ability to transport charts, papers, records and items throughout the medical center </li><li>Ability to concentrate on task at hand in open distracting environment </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Distribute and monitor work flow daily </li><li>Assist coders and problem solving. </li><li>Train new coders with Rush processes and procedures. </li><li>Work closely with auditors </li><li>Assigns ICD-10-CM/CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts with accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Abstracts selected data items and enters in 3M encoder/Epic software with accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Maintains a log of work performed </li><li>Completes other assigned duties as directed by management </li></ul> <p>Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
