<p>Apply Now</p> <p>JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to supervise, direct, and manage the daily operations and programs specific to the 55-acre National Equestrian Center. The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Parks.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Develops and supervises full time, seasonal and volunteer staff to assist in the operation and management of the National Equestrian Center. </li><li>Supervise the National Equestrian Center Event Manager and Event Coordinator FTE's. </li><li>Responsibilities include approval of leave to conform with personnel needs, discipline of employees, and staff development functions, completion of performance evaluations. </li><li>Responsibilities also include participation in hiring and promotion process, training, and other personnel related functions. </li><li>Works with Manager of Business Operation and event staff to initiate, create, plan and administer events, classes and programs at the National Equestrian Center. </li><li>Works closely with department Parks Program Committee in developing and implementing programs/special events for National Equestrian Center. </li><li>Ensures information is provided to the Parks Marketing Coordinator to provide special event details and schedules for all events at the National Equestrian Center to ensure proper time for advertisement. </li><li>Ensures that program objectives and standards are established, attained, and congruent with overall mission of the St. Charles County Parks Department. </li><li>Assists Park staff with system-wide programs and event planning and implementation including staffing needs. </li><li>Works closely with the NEC Park Supervisor concerning day to day maintenance and operational needs. </li><li>Coordinates and controls the work unit's operation/programs to establish operational priorities. </li><li>Works with the Manager of Business Operations to develop and recommend new and revised rules, policies, and procedures to respond to changes in operation/program needs, objectives and priorities to improve the effectiveness of managed operations/programs. </li><li>Works with NEC staff regarding purchases of equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for the operation of the National Equestrian Center, concessions, programs, and special events through County procurement system. </li><li>Works with the Manager of Business Operations and NEC Park Supervisor regarding the formulation and justification of budgetary requests for the National Equestrian Center including site improvements, equipment, programs, operations, and amenities. </li><li>Keeps fiscal records for daily operational process, including cash handling and transfers. </li><li>Promotes the park, the program, special events and develops methods to expand new and existing programs. </li><li>Supervises Event Manager regarding all aspects of food concession operation including compliance with applicable permits and ensures facility and equipment safety, and works in coordination with park rangers and St. Charles County Police Department to ensure secure and safe park setting. </li><li>Responsible for providing materials, equipment, and training to assure a safe working environment for members of immediate work unit. </li><li>Prepares daily, monthly, and annual reports and performs data management functions as required by immediate supervisor. </li><li>Works with NEC staff to submit annual operating and capital improvement budget requests. </li><li>Participates in planning for future amenities and park improvements to enhance visitor experience. </li><li>Coordinates with Manager of Business Operation NEC to ensure facility supervision during special events and programs. Required to assist in special events and activities outside of normal work hours and on weekends. </li><li>Assists with development of marketing and public relation plans/proposals. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree</p> </li><li> <p>A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.</p> </li><li> <p>Certifications</p> </li><li> <p>CPR, First Aid and AED certification required or be willing to obtain and keep maintained thereafter. Serve -Safe Managers certification required or be willing to obtain and keep maintained thereafter.</p> </li><li> <p>A valid motor vehicle operator's license and good driving record are required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience</p> </li><li> <p>3-5 years of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in Equestrian Related Events preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of three years directly related work experience including at least one year in a supervisory.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> </li><li> <p>CPR, First Aid and AED certification required or be willing to obtain and keep maintained thereafter.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve -Safe Managers certification required or be willing to obtain and keep maintained thereafter.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires a criminal and character reference/background check.
