<p>Department</p> <p>Cath Lab Prep and Recovery</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. The Interventional Cardiology RN assumes responsibility for performing, delegating and coordinating nursing care for patients undergoing special cardiac procedures, including interventions that assist the patient in a conscious or semiconscious state, and monitoring patients having moderate sedation. The Interventional Cardiology RN identifies physiologic, psychological, and sociologic needs of the patient, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, coordinates interventions and evaluates outcomes of the patient's hospital experience.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Require a minimum of two (2) years of cardiac experience. </li></ul> <p>Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prefer certification in nursing specialty area. </li><li>Prefer strong IV skills. </li><li>Prefer current Moderate Sedation and IV competency credentials. </li></ul> <p>Mandatory Education</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <p>BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing</p> <p>Required License and Certs</p> <p>ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support</p> <p>BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR</p> <p>FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License</p> <p>Preferred License and Certs</p>
