You can learn more about our Company, Culture and Values here: https://www.evercommerce.com/about-us/careers/</p> <p>We are looking for a Director of Engineering Operations to focus on our EverPro product portfolio.</p> <p>EverPro is seeking a strategic and hands-on Sr. Director-level Engineering Operations leader to drive improvements in overall productivity, cross product consolidation, the consolidation of multiple Jira instances into a unified enterprise-grade platform and improve metrics around the entire SDLC within a multiple product portfoliio. This individual will own platform governance, lead the systems migration, and spearhead engineering operations and analytics functions-ensuring maturity and visibility in engineering delivery through metrics, process rigor, and operational excellence. This role will report directly to the CTO.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Engineering Operations & SDLC Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Partner with engineering leadership to refine and manage the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across teams. </li><li>Drive adoption of consistent estimation, sprint planning, and velocity tracking practices at project, team, and individual levels. </li><li>Develop and facilitate recurring engineering operations meetings focused on delivery status, blockers, and team health as well as standardized metrics tracking quality, productivity, effectiveness and predictability of engineering efforts across the portfolio. </li></ul> <p>Jira Administration & Enterprise Migration</p> <ul> <li>Lead the enterprise-wide consolidation of multiple Jira instances into a single, secure, and scalable environment. </li><li>Administer Jira and related Atlassian tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket) - managing configurations, permissions, workflows, and customizations. </li><li>Develop and maintain governance frameworks and best practices for Jira usage across all departments. </li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders and external vendors to manage migration timelines, risks, and communications. </li></ul> <p>Analytics, KPIs & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Define and track key engineering performance indicators such as sprint velocity, cycle time, code quality, release frequency, and incident response. </li><li>Build and maintain executive dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide real-time insights into engineering throughput and project status. </li><li>Lead the analysis of team performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement. </li></ul> <p>Platform Reliability & Uptime Monitoring</p> <ul> <li>Work with infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering teams to establish monitoring and reporting on system health and platform uptime. </li><li>Integrate Jira with incident tracking and alerting tools to ensure operational transparency and accountability. </li><li>Maintain a culture of operational excellence with regular postmortems and root cause analysis reviews for major incidents. </li></ul> <p>Leadership & Enablement</p> <ul> <li>Provide strategic guidance and coaching to cross-functional stakeholders on Jira best practices and operational tooling. </li><li>Support and grow a high-performing team (internal or contracted) responsible for administration, support, and analytics. </li><li>Stay current with Atlassian innovations and continually assess opportunities to evolve the engineering tooling stack. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:</p> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience administering Jira and Atlassian tools at enterprise scale across multiple products and tech stacks, including 8+ years in a leadership or director-level role. </li><li>Proven track record managing multi-instance Jira migrations and platform governance. </li><li>Strong background in engineering operations, SDLC management, and agile methodologies. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in defining, tracking, and analyzing engineering metrics and KPIs. </li><li>Deep knowledge of Jira automation, scripting, REST APIs, and third-party integrations. </li><li>Skilled in facilitating and driving cross-functional operational cadence (e.g., sprint reviews, release readiness, postmortems). </li><li>Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) a plus. </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with tools like Jira Align, Portfolio for Jira, Tableau, or Power BI. </li><li>Familiarity with incident management and SRE practices. </li><li>Experience in regulated environments or large-scale SaaS platform operations. </li></ul> <p>Where:</p> <p>The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada - if you're close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely.
