Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices - every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities.</p> <p>As a Retail Operations Specialist, you will consult, direct, and manage all aspects of assigned stores' Bakery and Deli department operations in a manner designed to maximize sales, gross margins, department market share, revenue, and profitability, while providing positive customer experiences. You will ensure the effective utilization of personnel and available company resources and work closely with decision makers and independent store owners to support department-specific sales and merchandising, as well as increase the volume of company products and programs, as applicable.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full-Time, Hybrid Role</p> </li><li> <p>Location: 2215 Union Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081</p> </li><li> <p>Travel Required: Local 3-4 hour driving radius</p> </li></ul> <p>You will contribute by:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maximizing department sales and gross profits (if applicable to assigned departments) using a combination of company programs and past experience to provide direction, supervision, counsel, and evaluations for retail stores.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing counsel to store owners, managers, and department managers on equipment and operating practices, product merchandising and selection, pricing, personnel training, and evaluations.</p> </li><li> <p>Observing and ensuring that all corporate store and company policies in assigned corporate stores are followed. When applicable or necessary, suggesting, submitting, or implementing changes and additions in accordance with the guidelines in the company operations manual to correct deficiencies or address problem areas not adequately covered by existing policies or procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring assigned store departments comply with all state, county, and local weights and measures laws, and that labeling requirements are followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting store managers in interviewing, hiring, and training department managers and employees, including planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; developing personnel for future department management positions; and addressing employee complaints and resolving problems in assigned departments, when needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Making individual store visits and assisting store owners in achieving and maintaining a strong business relationship with the company.</p> </li><li> <p>Implementing and adhering to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations, including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, sanitation, health, and packaging requirements in assigned stores.</p> </li><li> <p>Researching, creating, assisting with, participating in, and presenting new programs, special buys, promotional sale days, department merchandising and training seminars, and special projects, as applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with and supervising new store set-ups, resets, and staff training.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitoring labor scheduling and suggesting changes to department schedules in assigned stores.</p> </li><li> <p>Overseeing corporate store department managers who supervise employees within the stores' departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Observing and ensuring all assigned stores operating under labor contracts adhere to respective labor agreements.</p> </li><li> <p>Performing other duties and assignments as directed.</p> </li><li> <p>Traveling frequently to stores.</p> </li></ul> <p>We're searching for candidates with:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full knowledge and thorough familiarity with the nature and duties of every staff position in the department, including procedures, policies, and operations.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to perform arithmetical calculations related to cutting tests; calculate tare weight allowances; analyze or calculate gross margins, yields, ratios, fractions, percentages, and itemized pricing or proportion breakdowns for boxed deli and bakery products; verify vendor invoice charges and counts; and complete and submit required records and reports.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to frequently walk, talk, or hear, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally crouch or kneel; and regularly sit, stand, and use hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word to respond promptly to in-store pages, accommodate verbal customer inquiries, answer telephones, and communicate effectively with store owners, managers, department managers, department employees, co-workers, customers, and sales representatives.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency to read, understand, and/or effectively present business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, instructions for operating electronic equipment and tools, company handbooks, policies and procedures, and other job-related documents, emails, and postings.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to work with fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants, and flowers without negative allergic reactions that impact performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Sufficient physical mobility and agility to respond quickly to fire or other emergencies, cleanup requests (including accidental spills or breakage of glass or plastic containers with liquid contents), shoplifting, security assistance requests, and customer accidents.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and chemical fumes from common household cleaning agents, such as ammonia, during routine housekeeping duties.</p> </li><li> <p>A valid driver's license.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to travel between stores and stay overnight, if required.</p> </li><li> <p>If applicable to the assigned department, a full understanding of the Operator's License required by local ordinances, referred to as a Bartender's License. This license is necessary at the store level to ensure a responsible individual is present on the premises to oversee front-end operations at all times alcoholic beverages are sold during permitted hours.
