<p>Clean Harbors in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Environmental Waste Chemist ($24-$26 to begin) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with company policies and procedures. Everywhere industry meets environment, Clean Harbors is on-site.</p> <p>Why work for Clean Harbors?</p> <ul> <li>Health and Safety is our #1 priority, and we live it 3-6-5! </li><li>$24-$26 to begin, Mon-Fri 7am-4pm </li><li>Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment including 401K with Company match </li><li>Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career </li><li>Company paid training and tuition reimbursement </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions/Responsibilities</p> <p>Tasks</p> <ul> <li>Make waste pickups at labs as needed. </li><li>Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications. </li><li>Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered. </li><li>Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance. </li><li>Inspect storage area for leaks or spills. </li><li>Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations. </li><li>Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance. </li><li>Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing. </li><li>Maintain and manage waste profile data. </li><li>Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties as Assigned</p> <p>Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements</p> <p>College degree or some coursework in Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Sciences</p>
