<p>The Assistant Principal assumes major responsibility for leading and managing a wide variety of administrative tasks related to the students, staff, parents, and/or community members associated with the high school and school district, remaining consistent with policies of the Monson School Committee and under the leadership of the High School Principal. The Assistant Principal also acts as the Athletic Director and works closely with all building athletic programs as well as the PVIAC and MIAA. •Serve as school/community communication liaison.</p> <ul> <li>Assists in the supervision and evaluation of staff. </li><li>Works with department leaders in evaluating and improving the instructional program. </li><li>Assists the Principal in the supervision of extra-curricular school activities. </li><li>Collaborates with the leadership team and administration to develop school improvement plans and to facilitate professional learning. </li><li>Assists the Principal in administrative tasks; including student attendance monitoring. </li><li>Assumes the responsibility of the Principal in the absence of the Principal. </li><li>Acts as the Athletic Director and works closely with the PVIAC and MIAA. </li><li>Conducts and attends meetings. </li><li>Supervises students and administers school and district attendance and discipline policies. </li><li>Coordinates and schedules day-to-day procedures and facility use as it pertains to athletics. </li><li>Coordinates and supervises athletic events including officials/transportation and other workers. </li><li>Selects, trains and evaluates all athletic coaching positions. </li><li>Fosters good school and community relationships related to the boosters, PTSA and other community organizations. </li><li>Promotes and enforces good sportsmanship and discipline among staff, the public and students. </li><li>Administers the athletics budget for all and supervises related fundraising events. </li><li>Establishes and monitors adherence to PVIAC, MIAA and school rules and regulations regarding eligibility, discipline and participation in athletics. </li><li>Updates the district athletic handbook yearly. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>MA degree in Education or related field. </li><li>Certification in School Administration. </li><li>Relevant prior experience, including a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in education. </li><li>Demonstrated effective problem solving skills. </li><li>Coaching experience and/or knowledge of MIAA regulations. </li></ul>
