<p>Description</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:</p> <p>This role has a set schedule as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under general supervision, performs a variety of baking duties and prepares baked goods in a production oriented, scratch bakery. Produces bakery goods in an efficient manner in accordance with company policy and ingredient standards.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepares breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, and other pastries, including icings and frostings according to established recipes and ingredient standards at batch scale </li><li>Prepares all dough and scratch baking mixtures following established company procedures and recipes. </li><li>Prepares baked goods for special diets as requested. </li><li>Ensures that finished product meets our high-quality standards. </li><li>Follows proper labeling and signage requirements for company's natural food standards. </li><li>Reviews production schedules to determine quantity and variety of products to bake and assembles supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities. </li><li>Manages and produces appropriate quantities to ensure we're not over or under producing products. </li><li>Develops new products. </li><li>Takes bakery orders from customers by phone and completes order forms properly. </li><li>Assists in verifying received goods; checks for quality, count and condition. </li><li>Stores and rotates all ingredients or merchandise following company policy and product code dates. </li><li>Notifies manager of any maintenance or equipment problems. </li><li>Maintains a safe and clean environment to ensure health and OSHA requirements are met. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Works in a non-smoking bakery with daily exposure to activities and equipment used in a commissary bakery.</p> <p>Equipment Operated</p> <ul> <li>Mixers </li><li>Ovens </li><li>Scale </li><li>Sheeter </li><li>Bun Rounder </li><li>Dough Divider </li><li>Oven Loader </li><li>Pressure Washer </li><li>Spiral Mixer </li><li>Proofer </li><li>Personal Computer </li><li>Bread Slicer </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education And Experience (E = Essential D = Desired)</p> <ul> <li>High school education or equivalent is required </li><li>2+ years' experience in bakery is required </li><li>Culinary degree is strongly desired </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Technical skills needed in the bakery industry </li><li>Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct and control </li><li>Interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to read a profit & loss statement </li><li>Computer skills </li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Ability to work with a team </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bending </li><li>Grasping </li><li>Hearing (Auditory) </li><li>Operating Equipment </li><li>Standing </li><li>Reading </li><li>Reaching </li><li>Scheduling </li><li>Sight or Peripheral Vision </li><li>Communication (Verbal) </li><li>Walking </li><li>Lift Min. 60 lbs. </li><li>Writing </li><li>Pushing </li><li>Pulling </li></ul>
