With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.</p> <p>Role Description</p> <p>Arcadis is looking for a Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer with a strong background in the municipal water and wastewater industry to join our growing team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of experienced professionals, providing technical leadership and design consulting services on instrumentation, control systems, and associated network and communications infrastructure for municipal water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities. As a senior engineer, you will also have the opportunity to work with other I&C leaders within Arcadis on project pursuits and help drive the growth of our municipal water and wastewater practice through industry involvement and leadership.</p> <p>Role Accountabilities:</p> <p>This role provides I&C technical design and construction leadership for standalone automation and large multidiscipline projects.</p> <ul> <li>Work in a collaborative environment, evaluating and designing control system solutions to meet client needs. </li><li>Lead large and complex standalone SCADA projects and provide I&C leadership on multidiscipline projects. </li><li>Project/task management and support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment. </li><li>Prepare technical memorandums and develop design criteria, SCADA system architectures, communications system and network designs, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA network diagrams, process control functional narratives, specifications, control schematics, panel layout diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and other I&C design documents. </li><li>Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers assigned to the project. </li><li>Perform engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment and software submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFIs (request for information). </li><li>Conduct field inspections, overseeing projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design, performing general QA/QC of completed work, and monitoring safety compliance. </li><li>Participate in factory testing, site acceptance testing, field inspections, and startup. </li><li>Develop project/task scopes, schedules, and budget for new projects. </li><li>Participate as an I&C leader on regional I&C initiatives. </li><li>Travel to client sites and other Arcadis office locations as needed. </li><li>Staff mentoring and oversight. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in electrical or controls engineering or a closely related field of study. </li><li>15 years of I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in the water/wastewater market. </li><li>Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain license within 6 months. </li></ul> <p>Key Skills and Attributes:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to self-direct and work on multiple assignments at once while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent teamwork skills </li><li>Experience in applying instrumentation and controls to process and electromechanical equipment </li><li>Experience designing and specifying SCADA HMI and PLC hardware and software architectures and systems </li><li>Experience in industrial network design and implementation </li><li>Experience in designing communications networks to support SCADA systems including radio and cellular networks, fiber optic systems, and leased line implementations </li><li>Experience in water/wastewater process control </li><li>Basic knowledge of Autocad and Revit </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook) </li><li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $109,186 - $185,616.
