<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Information (Default Section)</p> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Wright State University is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>Faculty Rank or Job Title Assistant Professor Job Category: Faculty/Instructional Department NeuroSci Cell Bio Physiology-BSOM EEO number: 26Y116 Position FTE</p> <p>100%</p> <p>Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate Negotiable Salary Band: FA NA Job Summary/Basic Function:</p> <p>Assistant Professor for the Department of Neuroscience, Cell Biology, and Physiology (NCBP), will serve as the BS in Physiology and Neuroscience Program Director and teach several courses at all levels within the BS PN program. In addition, the incumbent will contribute significantly to the further development and enhancement of the research infrastructure and opportunities for College of Science and Mathematics undergraduate and graduate students. This will include the establishment of opportunities in their own laboratory as well as the development and delivery of hand-on, cutting edge laboratory experiences for CoSM students.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree - documented successful terminal degree completion, but prior to conferral is acceptable. </li><li>Prior experience in college-level teaching. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communications. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least one year of postdoctoral research experience with demonstrated productivity commensurate with rank. </li><li>Prior graduate and postdoctoral research in Physiology and Neuroscience disciplines performing a variety of cellular, biochemical, and functional experiments. </li><li>Prior experience in directing laboratory experiences for students. </li><li>Prior experience teaching Physiology, Anatomy, or Neuroscience to undergraduate students. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time:</p> <p>60%-Lead and collaborate with other faculty members as the director of the BS PN program, develop and direct many of the major-based courses. Work across CoSM departments to develop and deliver cutting-edge research lab course experiences for our undergraduate and graduate students.</p> <p>10%-Other departmental educational initiatives/activities related to graduate or undergraduate students.</p> <p>20% - Perform scholarly activity, including the establishment of their own laboratory geared toward providing cutting-edge research opportunities for BS PN and CoSM MS students.</p> <p>10%-Participate in and/or serve in leadership roles on committees/task forces within the Department CoSM, and BSOM.</p> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time:</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Standard office and laboratory conditions.</p> <p>Supervisory roles: Expected to supervise all laboratory personnel and, as relevant, teaching assistants.</p> <p>Fiscal responsibility.
