Joining our Healthcare team is becoming part of a diverse, inclusive and flexible working culture, presenting great opportunities for personal development and career advancement across the globe.</p> <p>Your Role:</p> <p>The Director, Search & Evaluation, Neurology, will be part of the Global Business Development & Alliance Management team and will be responsible for leading the scientific and technical search and evaluation process for potential partners, acquisitions, or licensing deals. They will drive the identification and evaluation of partnering opportunities as appropriate, lead cross-functional teams and will actively manage the identification, assessment and communication of the evaluated case. Furthermore, this individual is a self-starter, be able to develop junior members of the S&E team and work independently depending on the scope and complexity of the project.</p> <p>Your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Leading an R&D team of cross-functional experts to provide a solid, holistic initial assessment for decision-making. </li><li>Driving the scientific and technical initial assessment process, ensuring clarity in key focus areas and identifying key hurdles to make a go/no-go decision. </li><li>Working closely with R&D executives and management to ensure alignment in areas of focus and integrated assessments. </li><li>Partnering strongly with transaction leads to ensure connectivity between scientific and technical evaluations and business assessments. </li><li>Scouting for companies in the relevant pharmaceutical space (Neurology) with the potential to bring into the pipeline. </li><li>Conduct filtering of potential opportunities (e.g., from VC portfolios, conferences) and provide aligned feedback to stakeholders. </li><li>Participating in partnering conferences and serving as the point person for conference preparations (identifying potential companies and assets to explore), scheduling, interaction and evaluation of companies and assets that align with the company's strategy and aims. </li><li>Staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities. </li><li>Participating in professional and educational conferences to gain insights and remain informed about ongoing developments and trends in neurology. </li></ul> <p>The Search and Evaluation team deliverables include a high-quality evaluation report with opportunity and risk identification, including mitigation options, appropriate R&D assumptions, recommendations, and related management presentations.</p> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>PhD, PharmD, MD, or comparable degree in life sciences, or proven track record of successfully leading and executing research projects in neurology in an industry setting required. </li><li>Minimum of 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical drug development, including a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary global project teams in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical development process, with credible hands-on R&D experience and demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of drug development and/or broad working knowledge spanning research, pre-clinical development, process development, manufacturing, clinical, IP and regulatory processes. </li><li>Strong knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area - Neurology. Relevant education and experience in Neurology and related therapeutic areas (R&D, scientific, and clinical). Additional TAs experience is a plus. </li><li>Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is essential, knowledge of additional languages is a plus. </li><li>Experience in conducting and leading evaluations and related activities, with demonstrated experience in honing in on key questions and guiding expert teams. </li><li>Strong project management with excellent organizational and leadership skills; ability to lead / contribute to multiple projects and teams simultaneously; Effective time management, project prioritization and demonstrated delivery of consistent high-quality work on-time in a fast-pace and changing environment </li><li>Demonstrated experience in collaborating with the transaction leads to ensure connectivity with business diligence to drive business case evaluations. </li><li>Business acumen; an MBA or experience in business development, venture capital, biotech, or consulting is a plus. </li><li>Proven track record for delivering fast-paced projects. </li><li>Excellent matrix leadership ability, with the capability to interact with senior R&D executives to gain alignment as well as with external experts to drive insights rapidly. </li><li>Ability to work under stress, with fast-paced timelines and uncertainty. </li><li>Ability to represent the company and interact at all levels, both internally and externally, across key geographies in which we operate. </li><li>Ability to exercise sound judgment in the face of uncertainty or with incomplete or ambiguous data. </li><li>Rational persuasion - data-driven, deep analytical thinker. </li><li>Position may require some domestic and international travel. </li></ul> <p>Location: Boston MA preferred. Global search open to outside the US.</p> <p>Pay range for this position: $136,100 - $204,200</p> <p>Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data. Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.
