For more details about the SUNY Old Westbury, please refer to our website at www.oldwestbury.edu.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Center for Student Leadership and Involvement (CSLI), the Coordinator is responsible for developing innovative programming for a diverse student population. This professional works collaboratively with faculty, staff and various departments and college constituencies to engage students outside of the classroom to enhance the college experience through student engagement, leadership development opportunities and programming to serve the campus community.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <p>This position is responsible for the comprehensive oversight, guidance, and development for the Fraternity and Sorority community, community service programs, management of Multicultural Center, departmental social media and publications, and various campus-committee service opportunities.</p> <p>This position provides assessment and data analysis of student engagement, fraternity and sorority membership, satisfaction and review of services offered; and makes recommendations for improved and increased support and services.</p> <p>The Coordinator is responsible for specific aspects of programming and student engagement, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Research best practices for management of Fraternity and Sorority communities, including but not limited to accreditation programs, recruitment, risk management, and policies. </li><li>Recommends and oversees fraternity and sorority expansion in conjunction with the national headquarters. </li><li>Collaborate with Residential Life on implementation of fraternity and sorority living-learning community. </li><li>Design and implement an extensive engagement program to oversee the administration and activities of fraternities and sororities, ensuring academic success, sustainability and growth of the organizations and is responsible for developing community service programming in conjunction with faculty and various campus collaborators. </li><li>Provide leadership, advising, and support for fraternity and sorority governing councils, chapter leadership, regional and national organizations, and related student organizations such as SGA-recognized special interest student organizations. </li><li>Oversee the Multicultural Center, maintain staffing and implement policies and procedures within the operational space in collaboration with the Director of the Center for Student Leadership and Involvement. </li><li>Communicate regularly with national organizations, advisors, and campus stakeholders. </li><li>Assist with Center for Student Leadership and Involvement event calendar for Fall and Spring semesters. </li><li>Assist in oversight of student events, including off-campus travel and Student Union coverage to engage students outside of the classroom and enhance overall collegiate experience. </li><li>Create and implement promotion of college-wide and student-sponsored events and other information via college and department-sponsored social media outlets and online platform Panther Connect. </li><li>Counsel students regarding policies and procedures related to student organization-sponsored events and programs and assist with event oversight and office operations in the absence of the Assistant Director and/or Director. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of a Bachelor's degree. </li><li>A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in student activity programming (including related graduate assistant experience). </li><li>Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to and appreciation of working with diverse groups of individuals, including age, race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic and educational background and maintaining a work environment that is marked by inclusiveness and respect for others. </li><li>Must demonstrate a high level of customer service and the ability to collaborate with students, faculty, staff and outside vendors in the planning and execution of small and large-scale events. </li><li>Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekend hours. This position will work one evening shift per week. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A Master's degree in Higher Education or related field. </li><li>Affiliation with, or understanding of, National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), National Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Interfraternity Council (NIC), National Panhellenic Council (NPC) or other. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Work Schedule: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekend hours.
