Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses through lecture, lab, comprehensive hands-on demonstrations, cooperative learning, and other instructional methods at on-campus or off-campus outreach locations.</p> <p>This position provides instruction over-the-road and on a controlled driving range, ensuring students gain practical experience in vehicle operation, maneuvering, and safety procedures. Instruction also includes guiding students through required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, range maneuvers, and on-road driving competencies.</p> <p>Additional duties include effective classroom and range management, accurate completion of required paperwork, assessment follow-up, and other instructional responsibilities that support student learning and program success.</p> <p>Educate students with core knowledge and current developments in the discipline. Provide regular curriculum and course improvement with continually updated teaching methods. Participate in subject or program leadership teams and college-wide committees. Work effectively in a team-based environment. Seek opportunities for continuous professional development.</p> <p>Provide high quality customer service throughout all interactions. This includes but is not limited to: work effectively and positively with people from all backgrounds; help the customer find solutions; anticipating needs, and following up with the customer. Provide friendly, respectful, personalized experiences throughout every interaction.</p> <p>Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of facilitating learning, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials and curriculum, working with high school dual credit teachers, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members. Teaching/training in business and industry may be assigned.</p> <p>This is a year-round position serving on average, 40 hours per week. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):</p> <p>(100%) Instruction</p> <ul> <li>Deliver classroom, range, and over-the-road instruction that prepares students for CDL licensure. </li><li>Train students in required pre-trip and post-trip inspections following industry and regulatory standards. </li><li>Provide hands-on demonstrations of vehicle operation, safety procedures, and maneuvering techniques. </li><li>Evaluate student performance through observation, skills assessments, and documented progress checks. </li><li>Maintain a safe learning environment on the driving range, in the classroom, and during road training. </li><li>Ensure all instructional activities comply with Department of Transportation requirements and program policies. </li><li>Complete and maintain accurate records, attendance, training logs, and other required documentation. </li><li>Communicate effectively with students to support learning, skill development, and professional conduct. </li><li>Maintain all required professional licensures and certifications necessary for CDL instruction and vehicle operation. </li><li>Serve as a certified Third-Party CDL Examiner, conducting skills testing in accordance with state and federal regulations. </li></ul> <p>Instruction/Manage the Learning Environment</p> <ul> <li>Curriculum: Integrate learning theories and models into curriculum design. Update the curriculum appropriately in the curriculum design repository system and the college learning management system according to the college schedule and guidelines. </li><li>Delivery: Facilitate learning, utilizing a variety of delivery modes and learning theories. Encourage engagement of students while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and functioning environment. </li><li>Assessment: Evaluate student learning based on course competencies and program outcomes, employing formative and summative assessments. Provide constructive and timely feedback. Retain records through the college information system according to program requirements. </li><li>Support Dual Credit and Credit for Prior Learning activities. </li><li>There may be operational needs requiring substitutions of alternative duties and/or the creation of flexible delivery. </li></ul> <p>Enhance Student Success</p> <ul> <li>Modify teaching and learning based on feedback and assessment results to improve student success. </li><li>Create an inclusive and equitable learning environment designed to address student needs and partner with accommodation or other support services to provide reasonable accommodations, when appropriate. </li><li>Advise students in ways that foster the development of the whole student, and encourage persistence and timely completion of a course, certificate, diploma, or degree. </li><li>Assess the effectiveness of a course and/or program and take necessary steps to enhance outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Pursue Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Participate in initial and ongoing required professional development. This includes but is not limited to, college-wide meetings, on-site professional development days, Wisconsin Technical College System Faculty Quality Assurance System FQAS courses, etc. </li><li>Develop and update annual goals as documented in the employee performance review. </li><li>Maintain required industry certifications and/or licensures. </li></ul> <p>Participate in Planning or College Advancement</p> <ul> <li>Participate in division, department, and program meetings to improve program health. </li><li>Provide input into hiring, mentoring, and succession planning. </li><li>Participate in college advancement initiatives, including college-wide teams, advisory committees, and/or statewide teams. </li><li>Contribute to the design, implementation, and reporting of grants. </li><li>Support the College accreditation process. </li><li>Participate in program planning, development, and modification. </li></ul> <p>Outreach</p> <ul> <li>Participate in outreach, recruitment, and community events as determined by college leadership. </li><li>Collaborate with Workforce Solutions on scoping business and industry needs. </li></ul> <p>Other</p> <ul> <li>Activities required to maintain program accreditation unless part of coordinator duties. </li><li>Grant writing and reporting activities may be required. </li><li>Activities required to maintain competency, partnerships, and mutual services within external/offsite locations. </li><li>Oversee and coordinate operations at external sites and satellite locations that maintain campus standards. </li><li>Additional instructional or instructional-related activities may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Technical Diploma in Truck Driving OR </li><li>High school diploma and successful completion of Truck Driver Train-the-Trainer course offered through WTCS (or equivalent school with proof of transcript).
