<p>Construction Materials Technician</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab. The selected candidate will receive comprehensive in-house training from experienced employees. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civil, geotech, and environmental roles while contributing to our projects with precision and dedication.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other stakeholders regarding construction site requirements and testing, observation, and inspection results. </li><li>Transport material samples to the laboratory with associated identifying documentation for further testing and analysis. </li><li>Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager. </li><li>Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure operational efficiency. </li><li>Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites as needed. </li><li>Adhere to strict safety standards to ensure the safety of all personnel and equipment. </li><li>Provide clear documentation of findings and results for transparency and accountability. </li><li>Engage in progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting. </li><li>Strong computer skills to log daily field reports and send emails efficiently. </li><li>Experience in construction materials testing, with a focus on concrete testing and inspection. </li><li>Certification such as ACI level is an advantage. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in construction materials testing is beneficial. </li><li>Bachelor's or Associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or related fields is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Typical working hours vary from Monday to Sunday, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day. During the summer months, expect longer working hours compared to winter. Due to industry demands, there is no guarantee of 40 hours a week, but opportunities for overtime are available after 40 hours.
