<p>This position is for Supply Chain Management Service at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. Primary purpose of position is to provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment</p> <p>Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Perform daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using bar coding equipment on a predetermined schedule that will allow for timely replenishment orders. </li><li>Analyze and resolve difficult issues and problems and to plan effectively and render equitable and reliable decisions </li><li>Maintains stock and primary and secondary inventory locations for all clinical and administrative services. </li><li>Oversees the performance of daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using bar coding equipment on a predetermined schedule that will allow for timely replenishment orders. </li><li>Ensures the monitoring of expiration dates, rotating stock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required by outdates </li><li>Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. </li><li>Maintains close contact with service lines to ensure that critical or urgent requests are processed timely and support both expected and unexpected requirements. </li><li>Ensures items are distributed according to established or ad hoc requirements using the generic inventory package (GIP). </li><li>Oversees the computerized inventory management systems and recalls to ensure outdated or otherwise compromised supplies and material are removed from usage area. </li><li>Checking inventory for stock identified for recalled items and hazard alerts; assisting customers complete work orders for needed equipment. </li><li>Ensure critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled. </li><li>Deliver supplies in timely and accurate manner, ensuring that supplies and material delivered are in sterile and operational condition. </li><li>Perform daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using bar coding equipment on a predetermined schedule that will allow for timely replenishment orders. </li><li>Receive, distributing, issuing, organizing, labeling, storing, and rotating processed instruments and supplies. </li><li>Distribute and balance workload among three or more employees; monitor work progress and make day-to-day adjustments based on priorities; instruct employees on tasks and techniques. </li><li>Provide on-the-job training to new staff; maintain current knowledge of procedures and answering employee questions; review completed work for compliance with instructions and deadlines. </li><li>Monitor working conditions; resolve minor complaints; reporting performance, progress, and training needs to the supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00p.
