We are seeking an Administrative Specialist II for the Children, Adolescent and Families program who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness. If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Columbia Area Mental Health Center, Child, Adolescent and Family (CAF) Services, CAMHC #079.</p> <p>As the Administrative Specialist, working under limited supervision and in conjunction with other administrative specialist, you will coordinate day-to-day operations of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Services front office, carrying out tasks assigned by the CAF Director.</p> <p>Responsibilities for this Administrative Specialist II:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that all patients/visitors are greeted upon entering the clinic. Responsive to the needs of patients/visitors/staff and addresses people in a respectful manner. Maintains exceptional customer service skills in answering phones. </li><li>Inputs changes in clinical information (i.e., changes updates, closures). </li><li>Provide backup for intake. Ensures that all new patients' complete registration per DMH policy and quality standards. </li><li>Monitor the schedules of assigned clinical/medical staff to ensure maximum efficient of patient care hours. Consistently backfills any cancelled appointments </li><li>Comply with Division of Financial Services (DoFS) policies and procedures. </li><li>Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by informing patients of their balances and requesting payment. </li><li>Per DoFS policy, ensure that patients receiving a self-pay reduction have submitted appropriate documentation. </li><li>Ensure that patient's insurance information is updated in the EMR. </li><li>Ensure that patients' records are complete and updated when indicated. </li><li>Per SC law, offer patients assistance with voter registration. </li><li>Serve as backup for reminder system. Review portal daily to ensure patients receive reminder and reschedule patients who request it. </li><li>Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. </li><li>A high school diploma and two years of clerical experience, or an associate degree in secretarial science or other related field; or three years clerical experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Post hire, employees must:</p> <ul> <li>Possess excellent communication skills, consumer relations abilities, and organizational skills. </li><li>Be able to demonstrate good judgement and initiative. </li><li>Have computer knowledge. </li></ul> <p>The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions including, but not limited, to lactation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
