<p>Position Overview</p> <p>Full performance level class in the paraprofessional occupation of occupational therapy requiring considerable knowledge of application of occupational therapy techniques; under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist, helps with planning and implementation of more standard occupational therapy treatments and activities for mentally and physically handicapped persons.</p> <p>Summary of Job Duties</p> <p>therapy services for patients in individual sessions (e.g., range of motion, "activities of daily living", training, sensory stimulation, visual, auditory, tactile and feeding programs); acquires materials, specifications and recommendations from licensed occupational therapist and then produces orthotic devices.</p> <p>Observes and documents patient behavior and individualize program progress and results; prepares and writes monthly program summaries, quarterly reviews, and assists in writing of the Interdisciplinary Habilitation Plans for each patient; recommends changes in program objectives and makes reports to supervising occupational therapist; prepares and presents in-service education programs for staff; attends meetings and conferences.</p> <p>Monitors adaptive equipment and make adjustments as needed after consultation with other occupational therapy assistants; makes minor wheelchair repairs/adjustments as needed</p> <p>(Performs Related Duties As Required)</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications and Requirements</p> <p>Current State of Ohio Occupational Therapy Assistant License; valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.</p> <p>(Other Evidences May Be Substituted)</p>
