<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Special Services</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/2/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Naugatuck High School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>August 2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>05/16/2025</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Speech /Language Pathologist</p> <p>Naugatuck High/ Maple Hill Elementary</p> <p>The Speech Language Pathologist participates on a multidisciplinary educational team to evaluate, identify and service those children who have demonstrated impact on their communication skills within the school environment.</p> <ul> <li>Complies with all published and disseminated rules, regulations and policies of the Board of Education. </li><li>Demonstrates an understanding of the Connecticut Common Core of Teaching, the Connecticut Common Core of Learning and the Connecticut Framework documents and their role in facilitating improved student learning. </li><li>Complies with all published and disseminated rules, regulations and policies of the Federal and State Department of Education as they apply to special education. </li><li>Serves on a multidisciplinary educational team as appropriate during the pre-referral process. </li><li>Evaluates and/or assumes responsibility for the screening and/or assessment of children with communication difficulties. </li><li>Interprets assessment results, which may result in implementation of a program. </li><li>Collaborates with other professionals and/or parents to determine the impact of speech and language impairments on a child's educational success. </li><li>Develops and assists in the implementation of instructional and curricular modifications to accommodate children's communication impairments. </li><li>Conducts parent conferences. </li><li>Shares knowledge about communication development of school-age students. </li><li>Assists in reporting to State Department of Education on number of pupils being served in special education programs. </li><li>Performs additional duties, where appropriate, which are assigned within the scope of employment and certification. </li></ul> <p>Required qualification: Certification as a School Speech/Language Pathologist</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Special Services and Building Principal</p> <p>Work year: By contract</p>
