To:All Staff Brockton Public Schools

From:Dr. Kathleen F. Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources

Subject:Safety Care: August 2025: Initial Certification The Safety Care curriculum is designed to provide skills and competencies necessary to effectively prevent, minimize, and manage behavioral challenges for staff working with students who exhibit disruptive behaviors. Staff will learn skills to prevent a crisis, respond to a crisis, and intervene during and after a crisis to prevent the chances of re-occurrence. Participants should be aware that certification is good for one year and they must re-certify yearly. The INITIAL CERTFICATION training is for those participants who have never been trained in Safety Care or whose certification has lapsed past the 90-day grace period. Participants must complete both days in sequential order to receive certification. Compensation will not be provided unless individuals complete the entire course. Trainers can take up to 20 participants per session.

Dates: Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19th and 20th, 2025

Time: 9:00 am -3:00 pm

Instructors: Team of Safety Care Trainers

Location: TBD

Compensation: Contractual Rate

Funding Source: Title IV
