Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>1 - Performs complete study including M-MODE, REAL TIME, COLOR FLOW MAPPING and DOPPLER.</p> <p>a - Acquires all necessary images and measurements according to lab protocols</p> <p>b - Interprets all techniques giving internal dimensions, wall motion and flow pattern analysis.</p> <p>c - Quantitative abnormal valve areas calculating gradients.</p> <p>2 - Obtains permanent records of examination.</p> <p>a - Looks up patient information and previous echo exams in the patient's electronic medical records system</p> <p>b - Completes exam documentation and billing info in the patient's electronic medical records</p> <p>3 - Contributes professional knowledge to final diagnostic impression or report.</p> <p>a - Writes preliminary interpretation for physician review.</p> <p>b - Informs physician during reading session of any non-conventional views taken.</p> <p>4 - Stores daily examinations performed.</p> <p>a - Ensures that all studies download correctly to GE server.</p> <p>5 - Technology - Embraces technological solutions to work processes and practices.</p> <p>a - Able to utilize GE reading station including burning CD, downloading cases</p> <p>b - Able to utilize Epic (Electronic medical records)</p> <p>c - Able to utilize the electronic method of calling down inpatients in a timely and efficient manner.</p> <p>6 - Safety Awareness - Fosters a "Culture of Safety" through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.</p> <p>a - Practices MD notification of "red values" as described in policy.</p> <p>JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Minimum Education</p> <p>At least a (2) two year Echocardiography accredited program including technical and clinical training culminating in an associate degree or higher.</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <p>At least (1) one to (2) two years experience preferred</p> <p>Required Certifications</p> <p>RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)) or</p> <p>RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)</p> <p>Required Classes/Skills</p> <p>BLS - Basic Life Support</p> <p>Required additional Knowledge and Abilities</p> <p>Ability to demonstrate competency in echocardiography.</p> <p>Must be able to recognize abnormal structure and be able to correlate this information into a useful study.</p> <p>Must be able to deviate from normal techniques, when necessary, to develop new techniques.</p> <p>Must be able to utilize ancillary devices, i.e., selected transducers</p> <p>Day shifts within the range of lab operating hours Sun-Sat 6am-7pm.
