<p>Job Summary</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the coaching staff at Grand Ledge High School as a JV Girls Soccer Assistant. This part-time position is ideal for someone with a passion for soccer and a desire to contribute to the development of young athletes. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to foster a positive and competitive environment for the junior varsity team, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices and games for the JV girls soccer team. </li><li>Provide instruction and guidance to players on techniques, strategies, and game rules. </li><li>Help create and implement training sessions that enhance player performance and team cohesion. </li><li>Monitor player progress and provide feedback to help athletes improve their skills. </li><li>Support the head coach in managing team logistics, including equipment, transportation, and communication with players and parents. </li><li>Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and inclusivity. </li><li>Attend all scheduled practices, games, and team meetings. </li><li>Assist in the evaluation of player performance and contribute to team decisions regarding player development and placement. </li><li>Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure a unified coaching approach. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Previous coaching experience or a strong background in soccer, preferably at the high school level or higher. </li><li>Knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. </li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with players, parents, and staff. </li><li>Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all players. </li><li>Availability for afternoon and evening practices and games during the soccer season. </li><li>Current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required. </li><li>A valid driver's license and reliable transportation. </li></ul> <p>This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of student-athletes while promoting the values of teamwork and sportsmanship at Grand Ledge High School.</p>
