This role is responsible for leading packaging development projects from initiation through manufacturing (launch), supporting both new product development and modifications to existing packaging.</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>The Packaging Engineer will manage multiple packaging projects, ensuring timelines are met, challenges are resolved efficiently, and stakeholder expectations are aligned and delivered upon. This role is accountable for ensuring packaging meets quality and consumer expectations while maintaining project schedules.</p> <p>Under limited supervision, the individual will collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Finance, Procurement, Regulatory, Engineering, Operations, consultants, and external vendors to drive successful project execution.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Hybrid: The role will be based in Princeton, NJ and requires in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.</p> <p>Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead packaging development across a variety of materials including fiberboard, corrugated, plastics, films, and labels.</p> </li><li> <p>Execute packaging projects with full scope from primary through tertiary packaging development.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and execute test plans, including documentation and reporting of results.</p> </li><li> <p>Create, maintain, and manage project timelines to ensure on-time delivery.</p> </li><li> <p>Support qualification programs for new packaging designs and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive cost savings initiatives related to packaging design and material selection.</p> </li><li> <p>Travel to vendor and manufacturing sites to support packaging development and implementation activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct hands-on evaluations of packaging to ensure compliance with project requirements, including work in warehouse environments and packaging labs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Sciences.</p> </li><li> <p>1+ year of relevant experience in packaging development.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic knowledge of packaging materials and converting processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in consumer goods packaging.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with primary through tertiary packaging development for new product launches.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of qualification processes for new packaging designs and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience developing component specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with various packaging materials and processes, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Corrugated containers</p> </li><li> <p>Folding cartons (solid fiberboard)</p> </li><li> <p>Plastic bottles</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible packaging</p> </li><li> <p>Thermoformed packaging</p> </li><li> <p>Injection molding</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is $59,400-$84,500. This position is also eligible for a bonus.</p> <p>As a Church & Dwight US employee, you (and eligible dependents, as applicable) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, and Paid Parental Leave. U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and vacation days starting in their first year of employment depending on hire date. You are also able to participate in our 401k retirement plan (with company match and profit-sharing) and Discounted Employee Stock Purchase Plan.</p> <p>The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity.
