<p>Job Description</p> <p>Primary Function: Responsible for melting and pouring metal into ceramic molds to produce aluminum and steel castings.</p> <p>Principle Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Prepares and handles supplied molds to ensure castings meet quality standards. </li><li>Preps molds per procedures (kaowool etc.). </li><li>Loads molds into ovens according to production requirements. </li><li>Preps metal for pouring (degas, chemical additions, etc.). </li><li>Pulls molds from ovens and delivers to appropriate pouring location. </li><li>Pours metal into molds according to procedures. </li><li>Records all information of temperatures and times for pours into computer. </li><li>Performs daily verifications on Spectrometer. </li><li>Places parts and/or test samples in Spectrometer to certify chemistry. </li><li>Confirms procedures are followed. </li><li>Ensures staging readiness of all pours. </li><li>Ensures chemistry of pours. </li><li>Maintains lot integrity. </li><li>Ensures paperwork is properly done. </li><li>Helps other areas as needed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Able to work in a production environment. </li><li>Able to read and comprehend English. </li><li>Able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and 100s. </li><li>Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. continuously </li><li>Able to communicate effectively with co-workers. </li><li>Able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
