The Clinical Informatics Specialist accomplishes this through the following areas of primary responsibility: end-user Epic training for clinical staff, partnering with IS in the evaluation, selection and implementation of technology that supports clinical practice for the Epic application, monitoring adoption of systems and mentors clinical staff in the utilization of technology that supports optimal patient outcomes, collaborating with clinical departments and IS to foster understanding and translation of clinical needs to optimize design and function of Clinical Information Systems, and collaborating with affiliate hospital's Epic trainers and support initial go-lives and ongoing training team support. The Clinical Informatics Specialist maintains their clinical expertise with staff rounding, participation in Unit Based Council meetings and attending Core Care committee meetings. This role will also participate in Unit and/or department Skills Day relevant to their profession or clinical background.
