<p>Akkodis is seeking an Agile Architect for a Contract with a client in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end database migrations from on-premises to AWS EC2 while ensuring optimal performance tuning and secure, resilient architectures.</p> <p>Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Agile Architect job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead end-to-end migration of SQL Server databases from on-premises data centers to AWS EC2, ensuring minimal downtime.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform SQL Server provisioning, configuration, performance tuning, and security hardening across AWS-hosted environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess existing database architectures and define migration, optimization, and upgrade strategies aligned with cloud best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and successful migration waves.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot database issues during migration and steady-state operations, supporting testing, validation, and performance benchmarking.</p> </li><li> <p>Document database architectures, migration runbooks, configuration standards, and operational procedures to support ongoing operations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (Master's preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>7+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration, with 2-3 years of hands-on AWS experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, tuning, HA/DR solutions, and migration from on-prem to AWS EC2.</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience supporting large-scale data center exit or cloud migration programs, working across cross-functional teams.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
