Applicants must complete all required fields of the application, as well as upload documents in support of their application, these include a cover letter specific to the position, an up-to-date resume, copies of any certifications, copies of any college/university transcripts, as well as three letters of reference dated within the last year for full consideration.</p> <p>Position Title: Special Education Long-Term Substitute</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers comprehensive Special Education for grades PK-12. </li><li>Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Special Education. </li></ul> <p>Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee</p> <p>Evaluator: Building Principal and/or designee</p> <p>Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.</p> <p>Period of Assignment: Starting on August 21, 2025 ending on or about November 14, 2025</p> <p>Responsibilities: The Special Education Long-Term Substitute has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor student progress in accordance with IEP. </li><li>Complete progress reports at the conclusion of ESY. </li><li>Plan and implement specially designed instruction for students in accordance with their IEPs. </li><li>Collaborate with related service providers and paraprofessionals </li><li>Provide direct instruction/support for students requiring special education. </li><li>Supervise one/multiple paraeducator. </li></ul>
