If you are passionate about education, equity, and making a difference in the lives of students, we invite you to apply.</p> <p>Miscoe Hill Middle School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Music Teacher for grades 5-8 from April 27, 2026 through last day of school (June, 2026).</p> <p>Job Description</p> <ul> <li>-Miscoe Hill Middle School, serving students in grades 5-8, is seeking qualified applicants for a Middle School Music Teacher. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based music instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks and support the academic and social-emotional development of middle school students. Responsibilities </li><li>-Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in Middle School Band (7th and 8th Grade Band) & General Music (Rock Band) and conduct small group instrumental lessons (5th and 6th Grades) </li><li>-Design and implement rigorous, standards-based units and lessons </li><li>-Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction </li><li>-Foster student engagement through active learning and performance-based experiences </li><li>-Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learners </li><li>-Maintain a positive, respectful classroom environment aligned with the school's core values of perseverance, integrity, and respect </li><li>-Collaborate with colleagues as part of grade-level teams and professional learning communities </li><li>-Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff </li><li>-Participate in concerts, performances, and school events, including evening events as required </li><li>-Utilize instructional technology and digital tools to enhance learning </li><li>-Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice </li></ul>
