Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.</p> <p>Starting pay: $12.00</p> <p>Job Objective:</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager, and Aquatic Leads when applicable, Swim Instructors will monitor activities, observe and provide assistance to swimmers, prevent accidents, protect life and enforce regulations as well as control access to the pool/deck. You must be rescue ready for any emergency situation; providing care up to the standard of your certification. Assist with implementation of and teach swimming lessons and other aquatics programs. Provide support for swim lessons, record keeping, lesson cards and lesson plans. This position is also required to assist with general facility maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned. All position requirements are necessary to ensure that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. Attendance at guard and quarterly instructor in-service trainings is required.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the safety of each participant while making sure the lessons fit the participant's needs and class description. </li><li>Perform setup, breakdown and maintenance of all lesson equipment </li><li>Instruct swimming lessons of all ages and abilities by developing and following a structured lesson plan. </li><li>Maintain attendance recordkeeping for swim lessons and maintain an organized filing system of records and lesson plans. </li><li>Responsible to ensure customer satisfaction in regards to swim lessons and other aquatic programs </li><li>May work with any aspect of aquatic programs. </li><li>Other tasks as assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications: The requirements below represent the minimal education, experience, skills, and abilities required for this position.</p> <p>Education: Minimum age of 16 years</p> <p>Background Checks: The position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.</p> <p>Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm and CPR/First Aid training within the first 30 days of employment.</p> <p>American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification required, or within the first year 90 days employment.</p> <p>Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Able to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele. </li><li>Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, perform rescues, and remain on your feet for extended periods </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility: N/A</p> <p>The physical requirements described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the duties of this job successfully.
