Training can be provided if license is not already obtained.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated aptitude or competency of the performance responsibilities of a school bus driver</p> </li></ol> <p>General Responsibilities: To provide a safe and reliable system to transport students to school sponsored events</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Drives assigned routes according to all safety standards and laws. </li><li>Maintains route schedules. </li><li>Ensures the care and safe upkeep of the assigned bus. </li><li>Responsible for the conduct and safety of all passengers. Deals promptly with infractions of rules and reports student's infractions when necessary to the principal. </li><li>Maintains a positive attitude toward the job, students, and other workers. </li><li>Conducts self in ethical and courteous manner to parents, students and staff. </li><li>Knows the rules and regulations concerning driving the bus. </li><li>Reports accidents promptly. </li><li>Performs pre-trip inspection on a daily basis. </li><li>Reports all mechanical problems promptly to Transportation Director. </li><li>Demonstrates responsibility for the cleanliness of the bus by cleaning the bus on a minimal basis of once per week. </li><li>Checks the amount of gasoline in bus tank and refuels bus as needed. </li><li>Completes all paper work involving leaves and trip reports on a daily basis. </li><li>Ensures that all students are delivered to the correct home and attempts to determine that the student can enter the home, if applicable. </li><li>Knowledgeable concerning safety precautions regarding blood borne pathogens. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or designee. </li></ul> <p>Salary depends on experience. Minimum pay of $25,000 annually (assuming a full route load).</p> <p>Benefits: full time has IMRF Pension, sick time</p>
