This role combines design engineering with advanced 3D CAD modeling, hands-on problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Purchasing to bring high quality commercial HVAC equipment from concept to production.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead Product Design: Utilize SOLIDWORKS and other design-related software to drive the design, analysis, and optimization of commercial HVAC systems and components, ensuring high performance, reliability, and manufacturability. </li><li>Develop Innovative Solutions:?Diagnose and resolve product/design challenges by applying engineering fundamentals, conducting root cause?analysis, and performing a hybrid of simulation and physical validation. </li><li>Design for Manufacturing & Assembly: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize product designs by integrating DFMA principles into early-stage product development. </li><li>Drive Continuous Improvement:?Identify?and execute enhancements to existing products, processes, and systems that improve performance, reduce?cost, and increase long-term reliability. </li><li>Collaborate with Suppliers:?Work directly with vendors to engineer new components, explore alternative?materials,?and enhance design quality and supply continuity. </li><li>Specification and Regulatory Analysis: Analyze test results and implement appropriate changes to ensure products meet technical and functional requirements. </li><li>Create Clear Documentation: Partner with Sales, Production, and Engineering to develop accurate, customer-friendly product documentation and supporting materials. </li><li>Deliver Accurate Technical Guidance:?Provide precise and?timely?engineering information to internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and clarity. </li><li>Invest in Ongoing Learning:?Stay current with applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, ANSI, etc.) and emerging HVAC technologies to support continuous professional growth. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field; equivalent related experience will also be considered. </li><li>Proven knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or a similar 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) software. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Suite. </li><li>Demonstrates?problem-solving?ability with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles. </li><li>Strong hands-on/mechanical aptitude. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and adapt to evolving project requirements in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Certifications in SOLIDWORKS CAD software. </li><li>Experience with sheet metal design. </li><li>Prior experience collaborating with?cross-functional?engineering or manufacturing teams. </li></ul> <p>KCC COMPANIES IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p> <p>For any questions you can contact:</p> <p>Terra Beaver - Talent Specialist - tbeaver@kccmfg.com - 502-493-5848</p> <p>Laura Zoghbi - Talent Specialist - lzoghbi@kccmfg.com - 502-493-5859</p>
