<p>Introduction</p> <p>The Summer Youth Intern-Rising Explorers Program will provide high school participants with a Summer Youth Internship opportunity. Students will be introduced to City career opportunities and gain valuable knowledge as they prepare for future employment. Summer Youth Interns-Rising Explorers will have an opportunity to learn more about a variety of tasks within the City of Tampa departments.</p> <p>Summer Youth Interns-Rising Explorers will be scheduled up to 32 hours per week (Monday - Thursday).</p> <p>All applicants must abide by the designated work schedule, professionalism and city's code of ethics. Must have reliable transportation to/from worksite locations.</p> <p>All applicants must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug test. If you would like to be considered, please review the requirements below then complete and submit an employment application AND a supplemental form.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>The Summer Youth Intern-Rising Explorers will:</p> <p>Explore and learn about a variety of entry level careers within various departments in the City of Tampa.</p> <p>Learn about the core functions and the essential services of the assigned city department.</p> <p>Work with a mentor on real world assignments.</p> <p>Attend performance management instruction and coaching lessons.</p> <p>Participate in career exploration workshops and peer networking sessions.</p> <p>Interact with City staff to enhance knowledge and skill required for various jobs.</p> <p>Perform other related duties as required for your job assignment. Summer Youth Interns-Rising Explores will be scheduled up to a maximum of 32 hours per week (Monday - Friday, depending on work assignment).</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Applicants must be at least 16 years of age</p> <p>Must be a City of Tampa resident</p> <p>Must be a current Hillsborough County School student (Public or Private)</p> <p>Pass pre-employment background and drug screenings</p> <p>Must be able to commit to an 8-week schedule</p> <p>Licenses or Certifications</p> <p>Drivers license preferred</p> <p>Examination</p> <p>Evaluation of education and experience.
